Depressiv auf Facebook rumklicken und desillusioniert Petitionen unterschreiben? Das kann es doch nicht sein! So eine Gesellschaft wollen wir nicht sein. Desillusionierung hin oder her, es muss etwas getan werden. PRACTICE PEACE. Was ist damit überhaupt gemeint, was alles kann das heißen und wie geht das? Das PRACTICE PEACE PROJECT vereint unterschiedlichste künstlerische Ansätze und Projekte und stellt sie zusammen als eine Vielzahl von Antworten auf diese Frage. Antworten, die keine Antwort geben. Antworten, die Angebote sind. Als Plattform sammelt es Blicke aus der Welt der Bilder, Töne, Geschichten… und es startet als Festival im September 2017 im Münchner Köșk.
Frei nach Yoko Ono und John Lennons „Imagine Peace“ – nur darf es nicht beim Imaginieren bleiben. Die Zeit drängt zum Handeln, zum Aufbrechen gewohnter Wahrnehmungen. PRACTICE PEACE ist ein Ruf an die Kunst. PRACTICE PEACE ist ein Ruf an Dich!

In the face of the multitude of political and societal developments around, you might be overwhelmed. You are uncomfortable. Maybe you are angry? Maybe you feel helpless. No matter what you feel, you know there is a sense of urgency. Something must be done. Depressingly clicking, liking and disliking is not enough. We do not want to be a society of disillusion.

PRACTICE PEACE. How does it work? The PRACTICE PEACE PROJECT unites a wide variety of artistic approaches and projects. It presents them as a multitude of answers. These are answers that do not lead to one solution. These are possibilities, alternatives. As a platform it gathers views from the worlds of picture, sound, stories … and it starts as a festival in September 2017 in Köşk in Munich.

It is well and good to “Imagine Peace” as Yoko Ono and John Lennon urge us. Peace must not stop at imagining, although it starts from there. Time urges action, the breaking of habitual perceptions. PRACTICE PEACE is a call to explore which forms can be suitable to articulate a vision of society, and to transform communities. And as Joseph Beuys says of social sculpture: “Every human is an artist who – from his state of freedom – the position of freedom that he experiences at first-hand – learns to determine the other positions of the total art work of the future social order”.
